Manufacturing Facility, Kanata, ON

A global manufacturer for the paper industry, contracted The RPM Groups & EcoGrid Technologies to design and install controllable smart LED lighting at their 350,000 sq. ft. facility. The installation was completed within four weeks.

Scope

RPM & Ecogrid surveyed the facility and created a lighting design based on the results, completed the installation, including 570 bays and 130 office lay-in troffers and strips.

Solution

The smart LED conversion provided a three-month return on investment.
Prior to the smart LED installation, the facility used approximately 2,246,896 annual kWh.
After the conversion, it used approximately 134,813 annual kWh, or a 94% reduction, as verified by IESO via Hydro Ottawa.
On average, illumination was about 45% higher throughout the production facility after the installation.
The customer saved an estimated $297,000 annually.
